Who We Are
Lynette Goulet
Lynette is a dedicated educator, homeschool leader, and lifelong learner with over 14 years of homeschooling experience, during which she educated her three children through a rich, hands-on, interdisciplinary approach.
She has more than 10 years of experience as a Registered Massage Therapist (RMT), bringing a strong foundation in anatomy, health, and wellness to her teaching. For the past three years, she has taught at a private homeschool program, leading engaging classes in Political Geography, Anatomy, Mythology, Literature, and educational Games.
In addition to teaching, Lynette serves as the administrator of the Ottawa Homeschool Activities group and as a moderator for the Ontario Homeschool group, where she helps connect families, organize educational opportunities, and foster a supportive homeschooling community.
Lynette is passionate about creating interactive, discussion-based learning experiences that encourage curiosity, critical thinking, and a lifelong love of learning. She enjoys helping students make meaningful connections across subjects while building confidence and a genuine enthusiasm for discovery.
Eva Chandler
Born in Germany, Eva earned a Master's degree in Archaeology and Art History.
She has homeschooled her three children for the past ten years and has been leading workshops for children in homeschool co-op settings since 2019. Through stories, artifacts, and the exploration of artistic traditions, she encourages young learners to connect meaningfully with the past while developing creativity and critical thinking skills.
Eva has been a volunteer at AQED (Quebec's largest homeschooling association) for the past six years and currently serves on its board of directors.
Eva brings to Ember an international perspective, educational and organisational experience, and a dedication to child-centered learning.
Candace Ouimet
Candace (she/her) is a foundational team member of Ember and is an experienced homechooling mom. A strong advocate for neurodivergent-positive, child-focused education, she believes in creating environments where every student feels seen and supported.
Drawing on her studies in Professional Performance at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City and the Graphic Design program at Red River College in Winnipeg, she brings a wealth of creative expertise to the community. Candace shares her love for the tactile arts, and has taught macrame, weaving, and prop and costume design.
At Ember, she applies her diverse artistic background and organizational drive to help build a vibrant, hands-on, and welcoming learning space.
Adriano Ferrari
Adriano has been homeschooling his teenage son Zeno since preschool, and has been involved in Blue Whale, Chelsea Forest School, and the Aylmer Co-op.
With a PhD in Physics and 15 years as a software developer, Adriano loves all things STEM. He's given workshops on building rockets, 3D printing, math, programming, and web development.
His role at Ember is to coordinate the STEM curriculum, and to oversee IT and finances.
